Lyon Biennale: Our Idea for a Day of Contemporary Art and Gastronomy

A Day of Contemporary Art, Heritage and Gastronomy

Every edition of the Lyon Biennale invites visitors to discover the city from a different perspective, taking over some of Lyon’s most emblematic venues. From September 19 to December 13, 2026, the 18th edition, Passing from One Dream to Another, will take place across several locations, including the Musée des Tissus, Musée des Arts décoratifs.

This new presence creates a special connection between contemporary art, heritage and gastronomy. For the occasion, Epona is offering Biennale visitors a prefered rate, upon presentation of a valid Biennale ticket.

An opportunity to imagine a day where exhibitions unfold along the way, with a lunch break at Epona along the route.

Start the Day with the Exhibitions

The Biennale invites visitors to move from one venue to another and experience Lyon from different perspectives. In the 2nd arrondissement, the Musée des Tissus et des Arts décoratifs is one of the highlights of the exhibition route.

After a morning exploring the exhibitions, continue through the Presqu’île, discovering Lyon’s heritage, iconic squares and the banks of the Rhône.

Enjoy Lunch at Epona

After several exhibitions, lunch becomes a memorable part of the day.

Located in the heart of the Grand Hôtel-Dieu, Epona welcomes visitors in an elegant setting steeped in history. Chef Mathieu Charrois creates contemporary French cuisine inspired by the seasons and the produce available.

At lunchtime, the set menu changes with the seasons and the chef’s inspiration. It is available at €28 per person for two courses, with a choice of starter and main course or main course and dessert, and at €34 for three courses, including starter, main course and dessert.

On warmer days, Epona Côté Jardin, located in the Cour Saint-Louis, is also an inviting place to enjoy lunch outdoors in a peaceful, leafy setting.
